The Libyan Prime Minister emphasizes sports as a pillar of social cohesion and announces plans to modernize sports infrastructure in cities across the country.

Recently, Libyan Prime Minister Dr. Osama Hamad led the inauguration ceremony for the Great Valley Stadium in Al-Bayda, marking a significant step in the government’s commitment to youth development and the construction of modern infrastructure. Accompanied by prominent military and security leaders, including Khaled Haftar, Chief of Staff of the Security Units, and Ayub Buseif, Commander of the 166th Infantry Team, Hamad delivered a speech highlighting the essential role of sports in fostering social cohesion and unity among Libyans.



In his address, Hamad expressed gratitude to all those involved in the project and stressed the importance of providing young people with the resources they need for well-rounded development, especially in sports. «Youth are the cornerstone of Libya’s future,» he said. «Sports are not just about competition; they are a means to strengthen national unity and build a resilient generation capable of creating a better tomorrow.»



According to Hamad, this stadium represents «a historic step» on the path toward Libya’s reconstruction. He added that the government intends to equip cities across the country with high-level sports facilities. «Today, we can see the beginning of a development process that spans all sectors, from infrastructure to essential services in every corner of Libya,» said the Prime Minister, asserting that with determination and public support, the country is moving forward toward a new era of growth and stability.
