He states that the murder of a 14-month-old baby, an abominable act, can only be attributed to people who act like true terrorists.

The Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau, Mohamed Jamil Derbah, has reacted to what he considers a terrible piece of news that crosses all limits. The information was published in the newspaper El Día, stating that “two large wooden cayucos, fourteen detainees, and twelve people murdered, including a 14-month-old baby. The mother of that child, whose son was snatched from her hands and thrown into the sea, also lost her brother during the harrowing journey.”
“The Intelligence Service of the Civil Guard in the Canary Islands has managed to show society, in just two months, the other side of irregular maritime immigration from Africa to the archipelago: the presence of boat skippers who are not only hired by mafias to steer the vessel and distribute food and water but also to maintain order with extreme violence if necessary.”
In response, the Special Advisor firmly declared that this must be stopped. He called on the authorities in the Canary Islands, Spain, and internationally to take immediate action in the countries of origin, declaring a state of emergency and implementing measures to prevent such terrible incidents that violate human rights. He insisted that this action must be taken now.
This is where efforts must be focused, Derbah emphasized, as the murder of a 14-month-old baby can only be considered an act of terrorism, which must be fought on all fronts. He urged authorities not to turn a blind eye to this harsh reality, which now stains the waters leading to the Canary Islands with blood, exposing a side of illegal immigration that cannot be tolerated.
Mohamed Jamil Derbah recalled that months ago, the media group he presides over had already highlighted this issue regarding the arrival of people from conflict-ridden countries plagued by terrorism. He stressed that there is no time to wait—action must be taken immediately.
