His most ambitious project is to build a smart city, in which no there will be no roads, no cars, no carbon emissions, just flying taxis and butlers
MBS’s most powerful dream is neither in art, nor in property, nor even in sports. He is hell-bent on making history and standing out as the founder of something that changes people’s lives.
For this reason, his most ambitious project is to build a smart city, in which there will be no roads, no cars, no carbon emissions, but flying taxis and robot butlers who are in charge of cleaning the houses. In this city, which could be taken from a movie, the fine sand of a desert beach would glow in the dark under an artificial moon.
It is a 500 billion dollar project that MBS wants to realize sooner rather than later. Called NEOM, it would be located north of the Red Sea, in the Tabuk region, and will have an area of 25,500 square kilometers, the same as Belgium, for example.
In the city, MBS aims to generate 700,000 jobs and welcome one million inhabitants, who will be tracked thanks to smart technology with facial recognition and 5G networks as standard.
Robotics will be in charge, from controlling security and logistics, to crime notification, caring for people or home deliveries, and intends, with this, to supplant the American technology center Silicon Valley in 2030.
But not only that, but it also wants, with Neom, to replace entertainment Hollywood, or the French Riviera as a vacation spot. Neom also contains a genetic modification project to make its population stronger. An ambitious project for one of the richest men on the planet and that, now, has landed in the Premier League.
