With an ambitious project that ensures water supply in eastern Libya, Haftar reaffirms his commitment to regional development and stability in the country.
In a significant step toward sustainable development in Libya, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, recently inaugurated the Fifth Industrial River Line at a ceremony held in Benghazi. This project, extending from Kafr to the Green Mountain and Patan regions, represents a crucial advancement in the country’s water infrastructure, ensuring access to potable water for thousands of citizens.

During the ceremony, Haftar highlighted the importance of this river system, which will not only supply the eastern region of Libya but also contribute to stability and economic development. With the capacity to transport approximately 2.7 million cubic meters of water, the new line will be complemented by a large storage tank of 24 million cubic meters and a network of strategically located wells.

In addition to addressing water needs, the Marshal announced the construction of an integrated city in Benghazi, which will include 2,000 residential units for engineers and operators of the river system. This project not only enhances the quality of life for workers but also boosts urban development in a region that has faced significant challenges.
The inauguration of the Fifth Industrial River Line reflects Haftar’s commitment to modernizing Libya and his determination to provide long-term solutions to the country’s most pressing problems. As Libya continues to face various difficulties, initiatives like this are vital for fostering peace and prosperity in the region.
