Libyan authorities celebrated the event’s finale, bringing together a broad local and international representation to honor Libya’s cultural heritage and equestrian traditions.

Libya’s Heritage Carnival, an annual event that celebrates the nation’s roots and cultural traditions, concluded this Saturday in Benghazi with a closing ceremony presided over by Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Al-Qasim Haftar, alongside Libyan Prime Minister Dr. Osama Hamad. The event, which attracted significant local and international participation, showcased the cultural value and rich heritage of Libya.



The closing day saw the attendance of senior military officers and officials, including the Chief of Staff of the Special Forces, Team Leader Rakin Saddam Haftar; the Chief of Staff of the Security Units, Team Leader Khaled Haftar; and the Director of the Office of the General Commander, Team Leader Basem Al-Boueshi. Additionally, representatives from both local and international sports clubs, specializing in equestrian and hybrid sports, were present, adding a vibrant display of traditional skills.



In his closing speech, Prime Minister Hamad emphasized the Carnival’s importance as an opportunity to honor Libya’s cultural heritage, reconnecting with ancestral identity and celebrating the country’s historical values. According to Hamad, the event embodies a spirit of authenticity, allowing current and future generations to value the cultural treasures of the country. The diverse displays of equestrian breeds and sports exhibitions captivated participants, transforming the Carnival into a “vivid canvas of cultural heritage rooted in history and embraced by the present.”
This event highlights Libya’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage, promoting a sense of national unity, and respecting the traditions that remain alive in the country’s contemporary culture.
