Dr. Osama Hamad highlights security and police training advancements during an event attended by top military and civilian officials, amid government efforts to stabilize the country.




On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Libyan Prime Minister Dr. Osama Hamad presided over a grand ceremony commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Libyan Police. The event, which also included the graduation of a new group of officers and the promotion of several members of the Ministry of the Interior, underscored the government’s commitment to improving security across the nation through training and strengthening of its police forces.



The ceremony, organized by the Ministry of the Interior, brought together high-ranking military and security officials, including the Chief of Staff of the Army, Abdulrazaq Al-Nazouri, and commanders Saddam and Khaled Haftar. Several ministers, members of the House of Representatives, and the families of the new graduates were also in attendance.
In his speech, Prime Minister Hamad emphasized the importance of «Police Day,» calling it not just a celebration for the security forces but for the entire Libyan people in their quest for peace and stability. He also paid tribute to the sacrifices of the police and army martyrs who fought against terrorism, highlighting their crucial role in ensuring the country’s security.



The Prime Minister also outlined the government’s efforts, in coordination with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Khalifa Haftar, to modernize the police sector. This includes improvements to police infrastructure, the establishment of new academies, and the provision of state-of-the-art equipment for law enforcement.
The event marks another step toward stability in a country still seeking to consolidate peace after years of internal conflict, representing a significant milestone for Libyan security forces.
