The Libyan government focuses on sustainability and efficiency in electricity supply to drive national development

Libyan Prime Minister Dr. Osama Hamad met on Thursday with the Director General of the General Electricity Company, Mr. Wam Al-Abdali, to address the challenges and modernization strategies for the country’s energy sector.
During the meeting, they discussed measures to optimize electricity infrastructure, improve productivity, and reduce bureaucracy that hinders service efficiency. The government reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a sustainable energy supply and implementing flexible policies that respond to the population’s growing needs.
Mr. Al-Abdali outlined the main challenges facing the electricity grid and emphasized the importance of restructuring the company with a new branch system to enhance sector performance. In response, the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s support for the electricity company, aiming to ensure the stability of the energy system and contribute to Libya’s sustainable development.
