As part of an official tour across several southern regions, the Deputy Minister of Health of the Libyan Government, Dr. Abdelsalam Aqila, chaired an extended meeting with healthcare sector leaders in the southern region. The meeting was attended by hospital directors, municipal health officials, and representatives from the medical supply sector, along with the Head of the Ministry of Health Office in the South, Dr. Khaled Al-Sharif.

The meeting focused on the major challenges facing medical facilities in the region, particularly the shortage of medicines and essential supplies, and emphasized the urgent need to strengthen primary healthcare services in order to improve the level of care provided to citizens.
This initiative comes in response to a direct mandate from the Libyan Government, under the supervision of the Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces, as part of a comprehensive support plan aimed at reinforcing the healthcare system’s capacity in the South and ensuring a more effective and sustainable medical response for the region’s population.
