At the ceremony marking the 61st anniversary of the Libyan Police, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, unveiled the “20/30 Vision” as a plan to bolster cooperation between internal security and the Armed Forces.
The initiative, he explained, “does not admit divisions” between the two institutions and sets a common strategic objective: to guarantee the protection of the homeland and the citizen by strengthening capabilities, discipline, and inter-institutional coordination.
The commemoration brought together police and military leaders as well as local authorities in Sebha and forms part of a modernization agenda looking toward 2030, which seeks to improve responses to crime, internal stability, and border challenges.
For the wider region, any progress in Libya’s security apparatus may affect stability in the central Mediterranean and influence energy and migration flows.
