Libya’s Prime Minister, Dr. Osama Hamad, recently visited the city of Sart as part of an ambitious national reconstruction plan aimed at revitalizing the economy and modernizing the country’s war-torn infrastructure. Accompanied by senior government officials and members of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Hamad oversaw and inaugurated several strategic projects designed to transform Sart into a hub for economic development and a magnet for both national and international investments.

One of the most significant projects during the visit was the inauguration of the new control tower at Sart International Airport, a facility that is expected to enhance the city’s connectivity, facilitating air travel both within Libya and abroad. During his visit, the Prime Minister also reviewed progress on expanding the airport’s passenger lounges, underscoring the airport’s role as a key logistics hub.
Another key focus of the visit was the inspection of ongoing developments at Sart University, where major expansion and modernization projects are underway. The Libyan government has placed a special emphasis on improving educational infrastructure, with the aim of positioning high-level training as a driving force for the nation’s future progress.

The delegation also inspected the construction progress of the Marshal Bridge, which will link the airport with the city center via the Coastal Road. This vital infrastructure project will significantly improve mobility and traffic flow in Sart, a city that aspires to become a center of attraction for residents and businesses alike.
Lastly, the Prime Minister visited Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital, which is undergoing expansion and being equipped with advanced medical technology. The goal is to position this hospital as a leading healthcare center, providing services that meet international standards.

These efforts are part of a broader comprehensive development plan, directly overseen by the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, Khalifa Haftar, aimed at rebuilding and modernizing the country after years of instability. Sart, in particular, is emerging as a symbol of Libya’s urban and economic renaissance, positioning itself as a future epicenter for investment and economic growth.
