The City Council of La Laguna opens, for the first time, a new call for grants for citizen entities to promote participation in the municipality through specific projects. The economic item aimed at financing the initiatives developed for this purpose amounts to 35,000 euros and the process will be carried out under the competitive bidding procedure.
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, explains that the objective of this line of support is to contribute with the citizen entities that are registered in the Municipal Registry to “launch projects that help to promote participation, improve coexistence and promote the sense of community”.
«Citizen participation is one of the most important keys to unify our society and maintain the citizen fabric» says the mayor. For this reason, through this call, specific projects and initiatives that are of interest to the community and that seek to improve the well-being of the population will be financed. Initiatives that contribute to the integration and inclusion in the community of different social groups and that promote social responsibility and solidarity will also be taken into account.
Through this call, technical assistance will be subsidized through the contracting of professional services external to the entity; technical personnel expenses; the expenses of publication of materials and publicity of the concrete project, and expenses of rent of premises, equipment or consumable material necessary for the development of activities.
Expenses related to administrative management, as well as water, electricity and telephone supplies that correspond to the part proportional to the execution of the activity, among others, may also be financed.
The call for grants was made public this Friday, October 29. Interested entities may submit their applications from the 2nd to the 15th of November. Entities interested in attending can consult the complete information in the electronic headquarters of the City Council of La Laguna and in the social networks of the Department of Citizen Participation.
The documentation must be presented in the General Register of the City Council or in any of the auxiliary registers of the city council, as well as in the places contemplated in article 16 of Law 39/2015. It can also be done electronically through the electronic headquarters of the local Corporation.
