The Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Al-Qasim Haftar, led the opening ceremony of the Military Union Stadium this weekend in the city named after him, Mariscal Khalifa Haftar Military. The event, rich in symbolism and attended by a large crowd, marked a new gesture of cohesion between the military structure and the government established in the east of the country.

The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, Dr. Osama Hamad, together with the Deputy Commander-in-Chief, First Curve Team Saddam Haftar, as well as the Chief of the General Staff, First Corner Team Khalid Haftar. The presence of several military commanders, ministers, and members of the House of Representatives underscored the institutional weight of the event.

As part of the inauguration, a friendly match was held between the team of the Military Athletics Federation and the Tunisian club Al-Tarji, contributing to the festive atmosphere. The packed stands and organized display reinforced the image of an event designed not only as a sporting opening but also as a demonstration of unity and strength in a national context still marked by political fragmentation.

With the launch of this new stadium, the authorities aim to consolidate a space for competition and representation for the armed forces, while projecting an image of stability in a region where internal balances remain in constant flux.
