Haftar met with the Belarusian president in the capital, Minsk

Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko expressed his country’s readiness to develop cooperation with Libya, under Khalifa Haftar, saying that he is ready to provide «assistance in every possible way.»
Haftar met with the Belarusian president in the capital, Minsk, as part of a visit that began on Monday, according to the Belarusian Telegraph Agency. Haftar said that Libya seeks to establish strategic cooperation with Belarus, noting «the development it has achieved in several sectors, including the production of industrial and agricultural machinery.»
Haftar expressed his happiness to visit Belarus, praising its efforts to achieve peace and calm despite the tensions surrounding it, adding: «We are very keen to develop mutual cooperation, and achieve mutual benefit for the two countries and peoples.»
Lukashenko expressed to Haftar his country’s readiness to develop cooperation with Libya, adding: «I would like you to feel at home, and consider us your friends. I have read and heard a lot about you, but unfortunately I have never met you before. I want you to know that we are well informed about the situation in Libya, and we know it well.»
«I have a special attitude toward your people. I have visited Libya in the past, and of course it is different today, but you should know that we are ready to help you in every possible way.»
The Belarusian Telegraph Agency said that Haftar’s visit to Minsk will focus on strengthening cooperation between Libya and Belarus in the humanitarian, social and economic fields.
